Academics

The Geophysics Research Unit (GRU) is a research unit in Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, which provides selected subjects for the undergraduate (B.Sc.) students. The unit has been interested by the BSc and M.Sc. students for doing a senior project and master thesis, respectively.  Since 1987, the unit has been supported by the International Science Programme in the Physical Sciences (IPPS), Uppsala University, Sweden. The support comprises mainly in the fellowships for geophysics training and graduate studies at Swedish universities, research equipments, geophysical textbooks and traveling cost for Swedish supervisor to advice and follow up a research work in Thailand. The growth of geophysics unit started from that time and continuously going on the way that we want to be a national region center of geophysical research and education. In 1999, the unit has stared Master program in Geophysics. Meanwhile, a supervising thesis work for MSc program in Physics has also been carried out.
